Ventsy Digital ("we", "us", "our") operates the Sereno mobile application ("the App") and the website heysereno.com ("the Website"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account Data (optional):

You may create an account using your email address, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In. When you do, we collect:

Email address
Display name
Authentication provider (email, Google, or Apple)

Account creation is optional. The App can be used without registering.

b) Usage Data (server-side):

When you use the App, we collect anonymous usage data to improve our service:

Sounds played, play counts, and listening duration
A unique device identifier (randomly generated UUID, not linked to hardware)
Device platform (Android, iOS, Windows, Linux)
Country of origin (derived from your IP address via Cloudflare geolocation; your IP address is not stored)

c) Analytics Data (optional):

Anonymous usage statistics (screens visited, features used)
App performance data and crash reports
Device type and operating system version

Analytics data is collected through Firebase Analytics (Google) and is fully anonymous. You can opt out of analytics at any time in the App's Settings.

d) Local Data (stored on your device only):

App preferences (theme, volume, sleep timer settings)
Favorite sounds and saved playlists
Downloaded premium sound files
Last active sounds for session resume

This data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

e) Purchase Data:

If you purchase Sereno+, the transaction is processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. We may receive a transaction confirmation and subscription status from the store to activate your premium features.

f) Website Data:

The Website (heysereno.com) uses cookies and Google Analytics to analyze traffic. Cookie consent is requested before any tracking cookies are set. You can manage your preferences via the cookie banner.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the App's functionality
To sync your favorites and preferences across devices (if you create an account)
To improve the App based on anonymous usage patterns
To diagnose and fix technical issues
To send service-related emails (e.g., password resets). You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

The App and Website use the following third-party services:

Firebase Analytics (Google) — anonymous usage analytics in the App (opt-out available)
Google Analytics — website traffic analysis on heysereno.com (with cookie consent)
Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — optional account authentication
Google Play / Apple App Store — in-app purchases and subscription management
Cloudflare — content delivery (sounds, images), hosting, and geolocation
Unsplash — background images

Each third-party service is governed by its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

4. Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data
Account data is retained as long as your account exists. You can request account deletion at any time
Server-side usage data (play events) is retained to provide analytics and may be deleted upon request
Anonymous Firebase Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months, in accordance with Firebase's default retention policy

5. Children's Privacy

Sereno is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Use the App without creating an account
Opt out of analytics data collection at any time via Settings
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Delete all local data by uninstalling the App
Delete downloaded premium sounds from within the App
Unsubscribe from email communications
Request a copy of or information about any data we hold

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data:

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
Passwords are hashed and salted; we never store plaintext passwords
Authentication tokens (JWT) are securely generated and expire automatically
Device identifiers are randomly generated UUIDs, not tied to hardware identifiers

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own through our use of Cloudflare and Google services. These providers maintain appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
